Lara Wantanabe

Lara is a doctoral student at the University of Windsor supervised by Dr. Jeremy Rawson and Dr. Macdonald. She obtained her B.Sc. in chemistry with minor in biochemistry from Mount Allison University in 2017. Her research compares the oxidative addition of 1,2,5,6-tetrathiocins with both low valent main group and transition metals. Lara has received various awards, including the Larry Calvert Travel Award in 2019 and 2020 as well as the General Graduate Endowment Award in 2019.  When not performing experiments, Lara is heavily involved in chemistry outreach and enjoys cooking and watching football.
